The quick answer
Ask your employer’s payroll or HR team for Form 16 for the relevant financial year. It is a salary TDS certificate, not a document this website can issue.
Check before you file
- Confirm your name, PAN and the financial year on the certificate.
- If you changed employers, collect the relevant salary records from each.
- Reconcile salary and TDS with your own records and the tax portal.
If a certificate is missing
Ask payroll for a salary and tax-deduction statement. Keep payslips and bank credits ready; a missing certificate does not remove the need to report income correctly.
